Redesign of the national broadband network (NBN) public website
01
Challenge
NBN was founded in 2009 to design, construct, and manage Australia's wholesale broadband access network. Central to NBN's vision is the commitment to provide fast broadband access to all Australians promptly, at affordable rates, and with minimal expense.

Seeking to enhance their online presence, NBN aimed for a visual overhaul of their website. Their goals included boosting user registrations, providing clearer updates on rollout progress, and offering improved support for business clients.

Solution
Over 12 weeks, I closely collaborated with the internal CX team to identify existing pain points and prioritise website features. I crafted and refined new wireframes, subjecting them to rigorous testing with a diverse panel of users. A fresh design system was forged, instilling a modern aesthetic and updating the image library.

We also optimised the website for mobile devices, acknowledging their crucial role in contemporary user interactions.

Nbn Stories

As part of the NBN project, a key focus was on enhancing customer engagement through compelling content. I spearheaded the development of a campaign website centered around curated real-life stories, showcasing the transformative experiences individuals have had due to fast and reliable internet access.

These narratives spanned a variety of themes, including the power of connectivity to unite communities, the accessibility of high-quality video streaming for experiencing the performing arts, the educational opportunities afforded by technology, and the ways in which small businesses can flourish with the latest internet services.
